Little Witch is a young witch in a family of witches. She is sometimes nicer than her family wishes that she would be and has adventures with her human children friends.
These books are part of a set called Step into Reading. The set was designed to help young children learn to read books of increasing difficulty. In the front of the books, there is an explanation of the different steps and what they mean and estimations for appropriate grade level. These books are part of Step 2, which is approximately for grades 1 to 3.
There is also a movie based on the books. You can also see it on YouTube.
