This series of nonfiction books teaches children about educational topics like history and science with projects for them to do themselves. Much of the focus of the series is about science and technology. Even the books that are about historical periods, events, or individuals tend to have a focus on the technology of the era that is the focus of the book and the tools that people in the past would have used in their daily lives. During the time this series was written and published during the early 21st century, there was a heavy emphasis in education on STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and STEAM (which combines all of the skills from STEM with the Arts), which is why this series has the emphasis on science and technology but is cross-disciplinary, combining it with other topics, like history, world culture, and art and design.

I was actually surprised when I found out that some of these books are considered part of the same series because some of them actually seem to be part of subseries with each other, like the ones focusing particularly on historical tools and don’t have an obvious connection with each other. I’ve decided to group the books in the series by related topics as well as publishing year.

The books in the series are by different authors.
