I love all of the Eyewitness books because they are good beginning nonfiction guides to a wide range of different topics, from periods of history to scientific concepts. One of the main features of the books is the collection of photographs on each page, not just drawings but photographs of actual objects, that illustrate the concepts explained in the book. It’s difficult to do this series full justice in a written description because much of what makes this series special is in the presentation. Although these books are full of wonderful pictures, the topics are too complex for them to be good picture books for ever young children. They’re better for older children.

Different books in the series were written by different authors. Because this series covers a wide range of topics, I’ve divided the list of books in the series below into different topic sections. The list might not be complete because it is such a wide-ranging series. To make it easier to find books in the series, I have them listed in alphabetical order within each section. I may shift books around between sections later because some of them could fit in multiple categories.

There are also some anthology editions that contain multiple related books in the series.
