The Hugga Bunch books were based on a series of dolls of the same name. The Hugga Bunch are little, doll-like people who live in Huggaland, which can be reached through mirrors. Huggaland is a place where everything is made out of soft things. The ground is like a quilt, and the trees and houses are like pillows. Everyone there is friendly.
The bigger Hugga Bunch appear child-like, like living dolls. They also have smaller companions that look like babies. The baby companions are “Huglets,” and the original dolls also came with these companion baby dolls.
The Hugga Bunch spread messages of friendship and love, particularly to children who are going through difficult things in their lives. The stories in the book series have morals to them, usually involving ways to be friends and treat others nicely.
One of these books, A Hugga Bunch Hello, was made into a made-for-tv movie. It is currently available on YouTube.
