Mrs. Anastasia Armitage is an adventurous, inventive woman.  She loves different modes of transportation, but she can’t resist tinkering with them, trying to improve them.  Her efforts sometimes end in disaster as she goes overboard, but she is undaunted by these setbacks.  Sometimes, the results of her resourcefulness are amazing.  She is always accompanied by her dog, Breakspear.  Part of the fun of this series is seeing Breakspear’s expressions in the illustrations.
