Twelve-year-old Kathy Wicklow is psychic. The ability seems to run in her family. She sometimes has visions of people who have died. She likes to draw, and sometimes, with no effort on her part, she draws things that are significant to something that happened in the past. She uses this ability to solve mysteries that depend upon things that happened many years ago. Most of her adventures take place in California, where she lives, roughly during the 1990s.

Instead, Kathy will be spending the trip with Concha, a friend of her aunt’s who lives in the little town of Santa Tierra. Kathy keeps having vision of a skull. What does it mean?
Kathy is spending some time with her mother at the lake while her mother takes care of a friend’s lodge there.
